STRENGTHEN

  • Social Work

We provide individualised social work sessions in a confidential and safe setting. These are tailored to support an individual's needs and promote their mental health and psychosocial well-being by, for example, improving positive coping strategies, building resilience and addressing circumstances that have a negative impact on an individual and their family such as toxic stress or substance misuse issues. We work with the individual to create a support plan that is appropriate for the person as well as refer individuals to specialised services where needed and requested.

  • Safe Space

Our Safe Space is a place where individuals can partake in activities and amenities in a physically and emotionally safe environment. In order to strengthen individuals’ MHPSS strategies, we offer the following services: confidential sessions with an experienced social worker, sewing machines, art supplies, games and puzzles, a 1500+ multilingual book library, hot drinks and outdoor space.

  • Children's Area

Our dedicated Children's Area is an opportunity for children to participate in learning-through-play activities with a trauma-informed approach. These activities support both the development of social skills as well as strategies for emotional regulation. Children have the opportunity to explore activities such as art, hide-and-seek, card games and dexterity-focused projects (such as gardening and crafts). We regularly introduce both structured and unstructured activities that are tailored to a specific children's age and learning development style, in order to meet needs of the child and requests of parents.

“I'm happy to help people have the opportunity to try get the long dream - play piano. I'm enjoying to be a volunteer in The Fáilte Centre and hope I am making people happier with our piano lessons.”
